Description
Located at the heart of the Dartmoor National Park between Postbridge and Two Bridges, The Cherrybrook is an ideal base to explore Dartmoor for walkers, cyclists or by car. Built as a farmhouse over 200 years ago, The Cherrybrook has been run as a guest house offering bed, breakfast and evening meals for over 50 years.
All rooms boast modern facilities including en-suites with power showers, Televisions and tea & coffee making facilities. We offer free Wi-Fi Internet access (please remember we are in the middle of Dartmoor so the speed is limited) and a generous supply of electric sockets for your computers, phones and chargers.
Accommodation comprises two double rooms, one family room (with one double and one single bed), and one twin bedded rooms. Our superior room Bellever has a very comfortable king-size bed. Our two comfortable superior rooms are south-east facing and offer extensive views over the West Dart valley; guests can often awake to the sight of a glorious sunrise. The remaining rooms have views to the sheep fields at the rear of the house.
Start your day with our breakfast including fruit juice, a choice of cereals, porridge, yoghurt and fresh fruit. Follow this with a full English breakfast including locally made sausages, bacon, free range eggs, mushrooms and baked beans, or any variation thereof. Finish with toast and marmalade or jam, with unlimited tea or coffee. Packed lunches can be provided for those heading into the hills. Home cooked evening meals are available Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays by prior request, or we can recommend various local pubs or hotels, many of which are dog and walker friendly.
Round off your busy day with a drink in our licensed bar, where a good selection of locally brewed ales can be purchased, together with various ciders, soft drinks and bottles of wine, and from time-to time you may well catch Chris and Sue playing some live vintage jazz. Many who visit Dartmoor will want to bring their four-legged friends and The Cherrybrook provides truly dog friendly accommodation welcoming well behaved dogs at no extra charge.
Plenty of on-site parking.
