The warmest and most genuine welcome greets you as you arrive at the Cherrybrook. Chris and Sue could not be more friendly and helpful, 2 naturals to the role we... read more thought, not to mention their 2 lovely dogs! The room was clean, warm and comfortable, nice shower (a tiny bit hotter would probably be nice in winter, but there was also the welcome option of a bath in the spotless shared bathroom), and the house is interesting and a bit quirky, as are our hosts! We were made to feel like old friends immediately. The breakfasts were delicious, with the best and freshest fruit salad every morning and beautifully cooked breakfast of your choice. Local places we loved were the walks straight out of the house, no need to drive, the Dartmoor pony exhibition and pottery nearby and the Warren House Inn just down the road for great meals and lovely open fires. We will certainly be back and it was a hard place to leave! Thank you so much Chris and Sue, and thank you so much for returning my hot water bottle, which I carelessly left behind. Next time, we will try harder to count the sheep more accurately for you! Bridget and Jean.

Form start to finish Chris and Sue ensured that we celebrated my wife's 29th birthday in style. From going out of their way to arrange flowers and prosecco in the... read more room, to bringing cake out after dinner and playing some vintage jazz and Disney covers.
The building has been lovingly restored and decorated with all the amenities you could want or need and the honesty bar is a fantastic idea with a nice selection of local ales and spirits etc. The shower was nice and powerful and hot even on half power!
Gorgeous views out the window onto the Moor and plenty of walks of all lengths you can do from base. We managed to dodge the rain and Chris walked with us some of the way on one of the recommended paths up to Wistman's Wood and back accompanied by two of the friendliest doggos you ever did see. Teddy and Honey!
Breakfast amazing and filling, sausage especially exquisite. Dinner on the first night quality locally made pies cooked to perfection. Lots of places nearby if you fancy something different to eat, from a 2AA rosette restaurant to good pub grub.
We both look forward to coming back when your barn conversion is done and we'll definitely be keeping in touch.
Thanks again for a wonderful weekend ️ More
